House No.27.
Status: Stage 2 (Planning).
Proposal for rear extension for a young family in Cheadle. With a clear brief in mind, the client wished for contemporary, monochrome extension that was reflected both inside and out.
Heritage doors are the defining feature of the design, allowing vast amounts of daylight to enter the space, whilst providing unrestricted views out to the garden. An existing patio area is to be made deeper, where a continuous floor finish reinforces the connection between the home and outside.
A feature window and high-level rooflight are included to add more interest. These are carefully positioned to optimise daylight, but also privacy and views of mature planting close by.
